IAF Signs ₹2,906 Cr Radar Deal with BEL

In a major boost to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, the Ministry of Defence has signed a ₹2,906 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the supply of Low-Level Transportable Radar (Ashwini) for the Indian Air Force (IAF). Developed indigenously by DRDO, the Ashwini radar is an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar designed to enhance low-altitude aerial surveillance capabilities. The system is transportable, providing greater flexibility and operational readiness to the IAF.
