India has taken a significant step towards sustainable infrastructure with the successful technology transfer of “Bio-Bitumen via Pyrolysis: From Farm Residue to Roads”, marking the beginning of an era of Clean, Green Highways, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said.   The indigenous technology has been developed jointly by CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi, and CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP), Dehradun.
