In a major milestone in the Make-in-India program envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India Optel Limited (IOL), a Mini Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has signed a collaboration agreement with Safran Electronics & Defense for Transfer of Production of two high-precision, combat-proven systems, paving the way for their local manufacturing. The Government of India has sanctioned 38 major railway projects in Maharashtra, covering new lines, gauge conversion and track doubling works spanning a total of 5,098 kilometres at an estimated cost of ₹89,780 crore, the Ministry of Railways said on Saturday. President Droupadi Murmu has given her assent to the Viksit Bharat—Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 (VB-G RAM G), officially transforming it into law, the Rural Development Ministry said on Sunday.
