AI Skilling Drive for Women Launched

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in collaboration with Microsoft, has launched the ‘AI Careers for Women’ initiative aimed at empowering women in the tech sector. As part of the program, 30 Centers of Excellence are being established in women’s colleges across six Indian states.

The initiative will provide training in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital skills to over 6,000 students and 200 educators through ITIs and NSTIs. The effort also includes the expansion of the SkillSaksham Program and the rollout of an ‘AI Programming Assistant’ course in 15 National Skills Training Institutes.

This program aligns with Microsoft’s broader commitment to skilling 75,000 women developers in India under its ‘Code Without Barriers’ initiative, furthering access to emerging tech roles for women across the country.
