The steel-cutting ceremony to commence the initial process of construction of the first New Generation Offshore Patrol Vessel (NGOPV) of the Indian Coast Guard was held at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Mumbai on May 31, 2024 in the presence of Indian Coast Guard (ICG) officials.
