India’s coal production registered a growth of 7.41 percent in April

India's coal production in April 2024 reached 78.69 MT (provisional) as compared to 73.26 MT in the same period last year with a growth rate of 7.41 per cent. During April 2024, Coal India Limited (CIL) produced coal of 61.78 MT (provisional), showing a growth of 7.31 per cent over the same period last year. It was 57.57 metric tons. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has successfully completed a daring night rescue operation to save a fisherman who had sustained head injuries. On the night of May 01, 2024, a fisherman tragically drowned on the Indian Fishing Boat (IFB) St. Francis due to rough sea conditions about 130 km west of Veraval, Gujarat.
