As a part of the ongoing Exercise Gagan Shakti-24 of the Indian Air Force (IAF), aircraft recently conducted Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) operation in the northern sector of Kashmir Valley. During this time a large number of troops were airlifted and later by night air landing was carried out using Chinook, Mi-17 V5 and ALH MK-III helicopters. Indian Coast Guard Station Pipavav safely rescued a 37-year-old critically injured fisherman from an Indian fishing boat named Pushkar Raj, 50 km off the coast in the Gulf of Khambhat on April 03, 2024. On receiving the information, Indian Coast Guard Interceptor (anti-infiltration) boat C-409 was sent and the Maritime Rescue Sub-centre, Pipavav took this action. Strategic Forces Command (SFC) in collaboration with Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully test-fired New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni-Prime from Dr. Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha on 03 April 2024 at approximately 1900 hrs.
