Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 22 National Highway projects totaling 268 km long and costing more than Rs 4,000 crore in Mysore, Karnataka. Notably, initiatives like Hulliyar-KB Cross-Chunchanahalli-Nelligere Road, aim to enhance transport-connectivity between Mysuru and North Karnataka. Mysuru Ring Road along with service roads and RUBS will decongest the city and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow.
4-lane expansion of Belur-Hassan and Yedegowdanahalli-Bilikere road along with installation of ROBs at Hangarahalli and Holenarasipur bypass is expected to significantly reduce the travel time by 2 hours. Reflecting the commitment to well-planned urban planning, the construction of a major bridge over the Lakshmanateertha River will help in decongesting Hunsur city. Additionally, the development of Srinivaspura and Chintamani Bypass aims to reduce congestion in both the cities.
The strategic inclusion of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) at railway crossings, along with major and minor bridges, underlines a concerted effort to facilitate seamless traffic movement.
