Launched two digital modules within the SagarSetu platform


Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH Shri Sarbananda Sonowal launched two digital modules within the SagarSetu (NLP-Marine) platform. These pioneering modules, namely Maritime Single Window (MSW) and Mercantile Maritime Department (MMD) were inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MOPSW), Shri Shripad Y Naik and senior officials of the Ministry.

He said, 'The launch of the MMD and MSW modules of SagarSetu (NLP-Marine) is not just a technological advancement; “This is a commitment to shape the future of India's maritime sector with digitalization of processes.”

The MMD module's comprehensive capabilities streamline vessel monitoring, inspection and release processes, increasing efficiency and coordination in maritime operations. These digital advancements are in line with the ambitious Maritime Vision 2030, which emphasizes ease of doing business, operational efficiency and technology integration in the maritime sector. The 'Sagar-Setu' mobile app, an extension of NLP-Marine, launched in April 2023, provides real-time information on vessels, gate details, container freight stations and transactions, thereby further streamlining import and export clearances. is done.

Swachhta Pakhwada Awards were also presented during the event, recognizing the outstanding contribution of organizations in sanitation and hygiene initiatives within the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Inland Waterways Authority of India bagged the first award, followed by Indian Maritime University (IMU) and Visakhapatnam Port with the second and third awards respectively. He appreciated the efforts of the port and its subsidiaries during the Swachhta Pakhwada in strengthening their commitment to maintain cleanliness standards in the maritime sector.
