Govt of India’s Joint Drugs Controller invoked World’s pharmacists at LPU to co-exist & collaborate for welfare of global community

* Occasion was inauguration of two-day 3rd International Conference of Pharmacy (ICP-2022) at Lovely Professional University by its School of Pharmaceutical Sciences

* While chairing the conference, Joint Drugs Controller (India) Dr PBN Prasad shared his views about working during harsh COVID-19 pandemic days

* Conference is in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) on the theme- “Practice, Promotion, and Publication of innovation: A Way of Transforming Health”

 

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Lovely Professional University inaugurated two-day 3rd International Conference of Pharmacy (ICP-2022) at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university. Joint Drugs Controller Dr. PBN Prasad at Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (India) chaired the conference.

While addressing 2000+ national & international, present & would-be pharmacists, Dr Prasad invoked all to co-exist, collaborate and produce useful work for the country and the global community. Remembering the isolated working, being totally cut off from the native and distant community, during harsh COVID-19 pandemic days; Dr Prasad laid emphasis on innovation of drugs, devices and techniques. He also hoped that such conferences will certainly help the global community by well understanding the present scenario.

Conference, at LPU, is being held in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) on the theme- “Practice, Promotion, and Publication of innovation: A Way of Transforming Health”. Along with Dr Prasad, the first session was also addressed by Dr Kamal Dua from Australia University who talked about “influenza and respiratory disorders” and a check on them. He also invited all to make a team and grow together for the cause of humanity.

Chairman Regulatory Affairs, Division of India Pharmaceuticals Association Mumbai, Dr Subhash C Mandal talked about transformations through the pharma industry. Chairperson, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Dr Indu Pal Kaur told all that “simpler the innovation; more will be its potential”. She touched the topic- “Research, Innovations, Publications to Patents”.

Thanking all the prime delegates, the Chairperson  of the conference Dr Monica Gulati apprised all that the emphasis of the conference is to highlight the role of pharmacy and allied sciences in academics, industry, research and society. It is also to promote the form of publication and patents for maximum reach out in healthcare sectors. She also anticipated that the conference will churn out the recent shift in the health sciences, research, industry and health science. She also highlighted that it will connect eminent researchers and see collaboration amid national and international institutions. Dr Gulati is also LPU’s Executive Dean and Registrar.
