- 50% Chemical Grade Hydrogen Peroxide to be produced
- The project is to be delivered in 15 Months
- Sweden based EB Nuberg is the technology licensor for the project
Leading Global EPC and turnkey project management company, Nuberg EPC has been awarded Uzbekistan Hydrogen Peroxide JV LLC’s contract for technology, engineering, and construction of 85 TDP (50% chemical grade H2O2) Hydrogen Peroxide plant project in Navoi region, Uzbekistan. Nuberg EPC will be the single-point solution company responsible from concept to commissioning of the project. The project is scheduled for an ambitious schedule of 15 months with the supply of engineering and plant equipment.
The hydrogen peroxide technology licensor for the project is EB Nuberg, the Swedish R&D company, specializing in developing technologies for speciality chemicals. EB Nuberg will offer patented, high-yield hydrogen peroxide technology and process design services for the establishment of the facility. The H202 manufacturing plant production process will be based on the latest, state-of-the-art Hydrogen Peroxide technology developed and improvised by EB Nuberg Sweden. The hydrogen peroxide manufacturing process involves the most advanced anthraquinone and auto-oxidation of the working solution followed by extraction of crude H2O2 from the working solution with zero discharge. Thus, the plant will comprise three main sections viz hydrogenation, oxidation, and extraction Section.
Nuberg EPC is globally recognized as the number one player in EPC for Hydrogen Peroxide. The company has so far already delivered 6 turnkey H2O2 projects in Egypt, Ethiopia, UAE, Bangladesh, and India. This is however Nuberg’s first H2O2 project in Uzbekistan. The domestic market size for Hydrogen Peroxide production in Uzbekistan is expected to grow to 10.3 KTA by 2030 and be supplemented by the substantial demand from its neighbouring countries.
This project comes as another milestone for Nuberg EPC in the pandemic hit in the year 2021. Nuberg EPC has earlier bagged prestigious projects in this period including Caustic Soda Plant project for Linear Kostik Soda Sanayi Anonim Sirketi in Turkey, Sulfuric Acid Project for Sprea Misr in Egypt, Sulphuric Acid Plant Project for Awash Melkassa Chemical Factory in Ethiopia, Sulphuric Acid Plant Project for International Company for Chemical Industry in Egypt, India’s First Commercial-Scale Fuel Cell Grade Hydrogen Plant in Vadodara, and IOCL’s Bio-Ethanol Plant in Panipat.
Mr AK Tyagi, chairman and managing director, Nuberg Engineering Ltd., said “This win is another international testimony to our continuous innovation, engineering, superior EPC & LSTK execution capabilities and world-class project execution quality. We are thankful to Uzbekistan Hydrogen Peroxide JV LLC for awarding this hydrogen peroxide project to Nuberg EPC. This latest project will strengthen our strategic position in Uzbekistan.
The contract signing ceremony for the Hydrogen Peroxide plant took place at Tashkent, Uzbekistan in the presence of Mr Jamshid Shakirov (Promoter, UHP), Mr Sobirkhuja Kasimov (Managing Director, UHP), Mr Zafar Khodjaev (General Director, UHP), Mr AK Tyagi (Managing Director, Nuberg), Mr Sandip Kumar (Business Development, Nuberg) for Intermediate Chemicals and dignitaries from both the companies.
Hydrogen peroxide is an environment-friendly chemical compound with the formula H2O2. In its pure form, it is a colourless liquid, slightly more viscous than water. It is mainly used as a bleaching agent in the textile and paper & pulp industry. It is a key raw material in the production of bleaching agents. In addition, it is also used in other industries such as wastewater treatment, organic peroxides, medical and cosmetics. The Hydrogen peroxide produced in the plant will be used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, water, food processing, paper & pulp industries and many more.
Nuberg EPC’s proven global execution experience and in-house strengths in driving technology-oriented projects have already made her a global leader for executing turnkey projects worldwide. The company has also set up and commissioned multiple plants in the Chemicals & Fertilizers, Hydrocarbon, Steel, and Nuclear & Defense industries globally. Being a responsible global corporate citizen, Nuberg EPC is committed to innovating world-class technologies and processes.
