India’s steel sector maintained its growth momentum in May 2026, supported by strong domestic demand from infrastructure, construction and manufacturing sectors. Scientists at the Bengaluru-based Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), an autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), have uncovered how a widely used catalyst dynamically transforms its structure while driving water electrolysis for green hydrogen production.
