The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today has approved the development of a state‑of‑the‑art Ship Repair Facility at Vadinar, Gujarat, marking a major expansion of the national ship repair ecosystem. Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited, Hyderabad for the procurement of five Ground-Based Mobile Electronic Systems, worth Rs 1,476 crore, for the Indian Army with minimum 72% indigenous content.
